The main trace on the top chart is the Monthly Average Daily Volume for the company. Blue marks the de-seasonalized trend, which is a least squares linear regression applied to the HON prices after seasonal variations have been filtered out.

Typical Seasonal Patterns might show a January Effect, and possibly some quarterly distortions due to the periodic release of financial reports.

Cyclical Patterns represent longer term changes in trading volume that sometimes reflect the operations of the general business cycle.
