These charts analyze trends in the daily volume: The top chart plots the average daily volume on a monthly basis for GILD over the past 5 years. Blue marks the de-seasonalized trend, which is a least squares linear regression applied to the GILD prices after seasonal variations have been filtered out. Orange represents the Seasonal Component of Transaction Volume. A typical Seasonal Pattern may show a January Effect each year.
